The One Hundred and Seventeenth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk 6:55 a.m.

I started off late this morning with a slight headache. It was a little warmer than yesterday with an overcast sky. Rain clouds in the west were threatening.

Six Yellow finches darted in and out of small scrub trees in the prairie.

geese geese

No geese in the prairie pond but there were three sets of geese on the main lake. Oddly, they do not honk as much on the main lake and even swim towards Chance and I. It would appear that these geese did not continue the migration north with the rest of the flock. More and more geese are making Madison their summer home. They must have read that Madison was #1 in Geese Monthly/

Six yellow finches darted in and out of the scrub trees in the prairie on the return trip. By the time i reached the duck pond it began to lightly sprinkle.

Coffee -- Costa Rican - Fresh/Direct from the brewer -- Very good. Oatmeal Cherry/Raspberry Muffin. Macanudo Cigar.
