Started walk 6:25 a.m.

Yesterday was probably the perfect Spring day. No humidity and about 70^o's. The weatherman promised more of the same for today. However, even though it is warmer, the morning is starting out with partially clouded skies.

About six large birds circled above me in the woods next to the prairie pond. They were very large and, at first, I thought they were crows. However, these birds did not caw and, upon closer evaluation, looked like gray jays.

The women crews were out on the lake this morning and I saw two crews competing in a practice run.
