The One Hundred and Eighth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk 6:15 a.m.

This morning it was partially sunny and chilly. A fog was rising wherever open water was exposed to cold air. In the prairie pond I could hear the honks of Canadians and, like the forewarning sound of a ship's fog horn, I watched as two big geese materialized out of the fog like a ship at sea. One of the geese proceeded to swim toward Chance and I as it honked what I took to be threats. I assume it is the duty of the male to scare me off by posturing potential violence.

I saw yellow finches, red wing black birds, red cardinals, a robin, crows, ducks, geese (three flying in a "V" above us) and squirrels on this walks

Coffee -- Costa Rican - Very good.
