The Ninety-Ninth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk 3:05 p.m.

It was a warm, sunny afternoon walk. The day before Easter. I was able to photograph some turtles that were "catching some rays" on a partially submerged log in the marsh waters. This is the same log where we've seen other turtles and is the spot where we released the turtle hatchling almost a week earlier.

Island I saw an old man painting on a small open rise that looked down toward the waters. He had on a straw hat and was accompanied by an old hound dog that announced our presence but who quickly tired of his own barks. Near this spot I also saw some white flowers. I've seen them before in the morning but they are usually closed tight. But, this afternoon, they were opened wide to the sunlight and very beautiful.

Island

I also saw birds, squirrels, rabbits, small back ducks, ducks with bold black & white markings, red wing black birds, lovers walking hand-in-hand, bikers, strollers and other dogs.

Coffee -- Latte Grande with Whole Milk and an Extra Shot.
