Daylight savings time begans this morning at 2:00 a.m. Spring Forward!

It was a beautiful morning but I needed a coat because it was still rather cold. There was frost on the grass blades in the lowland areas approaching the duck pond.

I saw a red headed woodpecker in our back yard tree. It had gray, speckled wings with a white belly. It looked like the same kind of woodpecker I saw when I spotted the Ferrari.

There was a lone goose swimming by the island but it was too far in the distance to be photograph.

On the return trip I almost stepped on a turtle hatchling. I was walking on the path that cuts through the prairie next to the retaining pond where I spotted the ducks with the bold black and white markings. The path dirt bare with lots of gravel and small stones. I was about to complete my step when I thought to myself that the rock looked just like a turtle shell. I stopped, bent down, picked up the object and examined it. It was a baby turtle. It was lying in the dust and gravel, trying to reach the water. I took the turtle home to show my daughters. The mother of one of my oldest daughter's friend inspected the turtle and confirmed that it was a new hatchling. She said that the shell was very soft and pointed to its underbelly where the yolk sac had just recently unattached. The turtle was refreshed by the water we gave it and started moving briskly around the box we had it in. Later, in the afternoon, my youngest daughter and I returned the hatchling to a pond. We set it on the shore and watched what it would do. Instinct soon kicked-in and the turtle headed towards the water and burrowed under the debris. Its shell looked exactly like the bronzed, decaying leaves that lined the pond's bottom.

Coffee -- Costa Rican -- Excellent. No Muffin.
