The Ninety-Second Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk 6:15 a.m.

Fifteenth day of Spring!

The walk started out sunny but ended with an overcast sky. The temperature was cold in the low 40o's.

As Chance and I were on the boardwalk, I could see the small, round, black ducks occupying the island that is slowing reappearing from its almost total swamping. Not unexpectedly, they fled as we drew closer. The four or five mallards that were sharing the island with the little, round, black ducks could care less about our arrival and stayed so situated.

Today, I saw two ducks with bold black and white markings swimming in the prairie retaining pond.

Dr. Suess Duck The trees are budding, the birds are singing and the ground is drying up from the week's previous rains.

The Dr. Suess duck stood fast and alone on the landing between the duck pond refusing to flee even with Chance's threatening presence. I was able to take a photo less than three feet away.

Coffee -- Costa Rican -- OK. No Muffin.
