Sixth day of Spring!
It was overcast and mild. The ducks continue to "pair-off."
There are mole burrows across many areas of the path. This is especially true on the
western side of the duck pond where the loam is rich and loosely packed.
A lone red-wing blackbird is perched on the top of a dried sunflower stalk. It stands in stark contract to
the muted beige colors that surround it.
The snow is almost all gone except in patches where the sun does not reach it and where drifts were high from
plowing or shoveling.
