The Sixty-Forth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk 8:05 a.m.

February is over and March has come in like a lamb. It was a little colder than yesterday and there was a light dusting of snow from the night before. The sun tried to break through the cloud cover but was unsuccessful until the second half of the walk. Once the sun established its dominance, the snow cover quickly vanished.

Chance played with a nine month old Chocolate Lab named Sophie and a black Great Dane. The Great Dane couldn't navigate turns very well and her gangly legs tangled with Chance's body going after a stick. She came up lame but her owners were unconcerned. They said that she often hurt her hip and they expected that it would quickly heal. Chance and Sophie were unaware that the Great Dane was even hurt.

No birds, ducks or geese.

Two cups of coffee today. First coffee -- Costa Rican -- Good. Second refill -- Costa Rican -- So! So!. No Muffin.
