The Twenty-Eighth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk at 7:40 a.m.

A partial moonset greeted us as we walked out the door. Whereas the sunrise and sunsets change in small daily increments, the moonrise and moonset has a much greater variance from day-to-day. Obviously it's the difference between the earth orbiting around the sun and the moon orbiting around the earth.

The temperature was a little colder than yesterday and, with the clear blue sky, I knew that we would see a sunrise this morning.

The crows were out playing in numbers and we discovered one perched all alone on top of a park pavilion like a weather vane.

A cross country skier glided past the island, and, on the main lake, an ice fisherman with a portable tent shanty was visible in the distance. It's a beautiful Winter day.

Coffee -- Costa Rican -- Excellent. Muffin -- Cranberry -- Very good.
