The Twenty-Fourth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk at 6:30 a.m.

The newspaper said that it was -7 yesterday when I took my walk. Today was a big improvement. Although the temperature was probably still hovering around 0 or below, there was little wind and you could tell that the day would warm up. Nonetheless, the morning was overcast and dreary.

Activity was minimal except for an unusually large number of cars on the road. Again, birds were not very active in this cold before sunrise. No moon was visible in the morning sky. The only light was the reflection of the city lights on the low cloud cover.

I saw small deer tracks but no deer.

Coffee -- Costa Rican -- very good. Muffin -- Bran/Berry -- Dry but tasty.
