The Twenty-Fifth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk at 6:35 a.m.

It snowed most of yesterday resulting in a few inches of accumulation. It was still snowing lightly when we started the walk. Flurries mostly. The temperature was mild and it was kind of pretty. Most of the sidewalks were still unshoveled making walking awkward.

Snow got into my right boot and the heat from my body created an ice spur beneath my heel. It was rather uncomfortable, but luckily, few customers were in the coffee shop so I didn't feel too odd taking off my boot and correcting the situation.

All in all, it was a quiet walk. The waters from the stream and the ice around the island continued their ongoing tug-o-war. Today the ice lost a few feet and the stream opened up enough water to attract about six mallards.

Coffee -- Costa Rican -- very good. Muffin -- Cranberry -- moist -- few cranberries.

My walk ended by shoveling off our driveway which uncovered yesterday's New York Times and Wisconsin State Journal. I'll read them tonight.
