The One Hundred and Sixty-Fourth Day of The Walk
Island

Madison, WI

Started walk 7:45 a.m.

Sunny and hot. Grass very wet from yesterday's rain. We've been getting a lot of rain/storms in the night and clear skies in the day.

During these walks Chance gets very hot. As we pass over the stream with the stepping stones, Chance stops and lies down in the water to take a drink. Then, after being refreshed, he happily resumes the walk.

On my return walk I discovered a group of ducks on the island that were not there as I was going for coffee. I believe they are a family. Also, flying away from me, low over the water, I saw a heron in the bay area east of the island. I viewed the bird on both legs of the walk.

Coffee--Costa Rican--Good. Carrot/Raisin Muffin. Cigar--Bering

Island black-eye susans
