The One Hundred and Forty-First Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk 6:45 a.m.

Sunny. Sun glasses needed. No mosquitos. I was tired and late getting started. I had been gone three days to pick up my oldest woman child from school in Michigan. While on the other side of Lake Michigan I purchased a copy of Peterson First Guides to Wildflowers. Possession of this guide will help me identify some of the flowers that see on my walk.

spiderwort Today I recorded Daisy Fleabane, Red Clover, Goats Beard and Spiderwort. Two of these flowers I knew about. The other Two I had, in the past, dismissed as weeds. Even with the field guide, two other flowers remain unidentified. I will study them closer tommorrow.

An orange plastic fence encircled a small 5 foot square patch of land on the East side of the Duck Pond. A sign on the fence read "Turtle Nesting Area."

Coffee -- Costa Rican -- good.
