The One Hundred and Thirty-Fourth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk 6:30 a.m.

Sunny and mild with mosquitos. I could see some ducklings near Turtle Log although it is difficult to see in from the trail now that the trees and shrubs have foliage.

A lone duck stood sentry on the island like a statue at the entrance to a museum.

Phlox Walk The Dame's Rocket is in full glory on a path between the woods and some houses. Being in such quantity, their scent is the strongest I've ever known. A runner passing me had stopped to absorb the scene and also commented on their beauty.

Pasture Rose by prairie entrance.

Pasture Rose
