Walk
Madison, WI
Started walk 6:15 a.m.
Twelfth day of Spring!
It rained all night and a cold steady Spring rain was still falling in the morning.
There were fewer worms on the sidewalks. The storm sewers were flooding and debris was scattered where the sewer spilled
its pipes near the street intersections. The walking paths were also flooded making for
difficult walking. The temperature was falling during the walk. It probably went from 50o to 40o in
less than one hour. I later learned that the warmest part of the day was around 5:00 a.m. (about one hour before my walk).
The island is almost covered with water. Waves are lapping over its top and smashing down the grass.
The ducks are still paired-off and I discover them only when the male mallards come out of
hiding to protect their females and scare me away.
Chance got excited about a jack rabbit that was only a hop away. The buds on the trees and bushes are
ready to burst into leaf.
Coffee -- Costa Rican -- Excellent. Blackberry Muffin. Don Kiko cigar.
