Tenth day of Spring!

Saturday's warm temperatures spilled over into today. It was somewhat overcast most of the day but the sun came out in spots during my afternoon walk. I wore a canvas slope hat without gloves both days.

There were fishermen everywhere including one on the bank where I snap my photo of the island. He was almost camped out on the spot with his girlfriend or wife sitting in a lounge chair next to a large cooler. I was going to politely ask him to move aside for a brief moment but I decided to wait until my return trip to take my photo. Luckily, he and his girlfriend were gone by the time I returned and took the photo around 5:10 p.m.

The mallards are getting feisty. I see male mallards chasing off other male mallards from lone females. The male ducks get real low with their necks just a hair breadth above the ground, and they nip at the sensitive rear of the fleeing male's tail.

I continue to see a lot of turtles. Today, there were three painted turtles sunning themselves on a half submerged log right next to two mallards. As I moved toward them for a photo they quickly dove into the water after hearing the dead leaves and branches break under my weight. The mallards could care less about my arrival.

Coffee -- Costa Rican -- Good.
