The Thirty-Fourth Day of The Walk
IslandMadison, WI

Started walk at 3:45 p.m.

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon. In celebration, I took my Nissan thermos, lit up a Gran Montana and headed to the coffee shop. Actually, this isn't any different than any other day. But what the heck, one must acknowledge the sun when one sees it so infrequently.

There were very few birds out this afternoon. This is much like last weekend when I took an afternoon walk. Suffice it to say, the character of an afternoon walk is much different than a morning walk. Most notably, in the afternoon one often comes across other hikers. And, as I've already pointed out, there are fewer birds. I did see a robin by the stream. Whereas this is the bird typically signifies the coming of Spring, I highly doubt if the bird even bothered to migrate this year.

Coffee -- Costa Rican -- OK. No muffin today -- However, I did buy Chance a day old apple pastry.
