Started walk at 4:00 p.m.

Wy wife took Chance on his morning walk and accompanied me on his evening walk. I forgot to take the camera half assuming it would be too dark for a photo. I was wrong. First of all, we saw a heron in the marsh overlooking a flock of ducks. It flew off when we invaded its space and circled high above the trees before disappearing in the distance.

Secondly, there was a beautiful sunset around 4:30 that I should have captured on film to prove that Wisconsin winters are not as dreary as my photography has recorded to date. The ground was hard and easy to walk on. The backwater cove was still unfrozen. However, there was a thin layer of ice in still areas and spider holes resembling alien cave paintings were scattered sparingly on the surface.

Coffee was good -- Costa Rican. Good company.
